In-line analyzers for water and residual water

Water quality in industrial processes is of great importance for complying with production standards, consumptions regulation and preservation of plants assets. We can divide water quality in the one used in the production process and residual which goes back to the nature.

The parameters to be aware of in process water depend on supply sources, high silica content, hardness or sodium can cause damage for incrustation in important components. Compounds such as chromium VI are highly toxic and must never end up on shallow waters in any case. For this reason, monitoring and an effcient water treatment for consumption, production, furnace feed and refrigeration are needed.

In residual water plants, analyzers measure the quality of water going out to guarantee norm compliance and minimize environmental impact. Among other functions analyzers help in the optimization of aeration and precipitate dosage during the biological treatment and monitor nitrification-denitrification process at this stage of the process.

Metal and nutrient analysis via colorimetric analyzers

Reagents are added to water simple in order to “colour” the compound or nutrient to be analyzed. The color’s intensity is then measured photometrically, which is based in the fact that metals and nutrients absorb or attenuate light of a specific wave length. Sensors evaluate the difference in intensity between the amounts of light produced and received. Specific absorption is proportional to the concentration of the specific compound measured which is determined using predetermined calibrating curves.
