Ceramic measuring cell principle
The ceramic sensor has no filling oil, meaning that process pressure acts directly on the ceramic frame and bends it. The change in capacitance is function of the pressure applied between the ceramic membrane electrodes. The measuring range is defined by the width of the process ceramic insulation frame.

Pressure transmitter with polysilicon measuring cell (metallic)
Metallic cell measuring principle
Working pressure bends the isolation frame process and a filling fluid transfers pressure to a resistance bridge (semiconductor tech). The bridge’s tension change is measured and processed.

Pressure Transmitter with separating seal (chemical)
In case the measurement has to be done in extreme conditions, it can have several separating seals that can be mounted either directly or using capillary extension tubes. They can be used for a product temperature of between -70 and 400 °C (-94 to 752 °F), they are insensible to aggressive products, very slimy, crystallizers or polymerizers and are ideal for diffcult access measuring points.

Ceraphant provides safe measurements and reliable monitoring of absolute and relative pressures in gases, steam and liquids. The different versions of process connection offer fast, simple and safe process integration. The standard version of the Ceraphant includes an illuminated indicator. The measured values are displayed together with the corresponding physical unit.
